Rozel
Ahmed's journey towards his international cricket commentary debut is a
testament to his unwavering dedication, relentless pursuit of excellence, and
unwavering passion for the sport. From the very outset of his career in
November 2018, when he took his first steps into the world of commentary with
Last Man Stands Bangladesh with the help of Amrita Malangi and Rifatul Islam, Rozel displayed a natural flair for articulating
the nuances of cricketing action. His appointment as an official commentator
for Last Man Stands Bangladesh in the same year marked the beginning of a
meteoric rise in the realm of cricket commentary. Over the ensuing months and
years, Rozel honed his craft, lending his voice to a myriad of prestigious
tournaments including the Thailand Open, South Africa Championship, and Cox's Bazar
Open, among others.
However,
it was his stint at ABC Radio 89.2 FM during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019
that served as a pivotal moment in Rozel's career. Here, he embarked on his
first Bangla commentary journey, setting the stage for his future endeavors in
the field. Driven by a childhood fascination with the likes of Australian
commentators, Rozel harbored aspirations of becoming an English commentator—a
dream that would soon become a reality. His tenure as a sports host and
commentator at ABC Radio, which spanned from May 2019 to February 2020,
provided him with invaluable experience and further solidified his position in
the industry.
In March 2020, Rozel's dedication bore fruit as he was upgraded to an official commentator at Last Man Stands, further cementing his status as a prominent voice in cricketing circles. Subsequent ventures with Radio Bhumi FM 92.8 and notable events such as the "J'ADOUBE 100 balls Inter-University T20 Cricket Tournament" and the "3rd Alumni Cricket Tournament 2021" further enhanced his reputation as a versatile and dynamic commentator.

Despite
the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Rozel's passion remained
undeterred, as evidenced by his continued involvement in high-profile
tournaments such as the "T SPORTS 100 Balls Corporate Clash" and the
"Walton Presents Corporate T20 Cricket Tournament powered by TK
Sports." His remarkable versatility and presentation skills also earned
him opportunities to host auction ceremonies, such as the BGMEA Cup 2021.
However, it was during the Last Man Stands Commentary that Rozel received an offer to commentate in the "Life Springs Dominators Cup 2021," an international cricket tournament featuring teams from Russia, India, and Bangladesh—a significant milestone in his career trajectory. Rozel's ability to seamlessly transition between various formats and his adeptness at presenting auction ceremonies further solidified his reputation as a seasoned commentator.
In May 2022, Rozel received a major breakthrough when he was selected to commentate on the "Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2021-22," alongside some of the country's most renowned commentators. His versatility was further highlighted when he commentated on a Boxing Tournament, "Xcel Presents South Asian Pro Boxing Fight Night-The Ultimate Glory."
Despite his success in the field of sports journalism, Rozel's heart remained set on his childhood dream of becoming an international cricket commentator. This dream finally came to fruition on March 31, 2024, when he was given the opportunity to commentate on the Australia Women's Tour of Bangladesh. With the support of industry veterans such as Mr. Robi Hossain Nirob and Mr. Kumar Kallyan, Rozel's international debut marked the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and unwavering determination.
In the historic Bangladesh Women vs. Australia Women 1st T20i match, Rozel's pitch report set the stage for an enthralling contest, while his commentary during the subsequent matches of the series showcased his deep understanding of the game and his ability to engage and captivate audiences. Rozel's international cricket commentary debut serves as a shining example of perseverance, passion, and the pursuit of one's dreams against all odds.
